Did God REALLY Say?

Good morning, "Sometimes people say, "Here is something new!" But actually, it is old; nothing is ever truly new." Ecclesiastes 1:10 NLT Is seems to me all generations ponder if something is just for their time. If it's really a new thing. According to our verse for today, I would say no. Things just recycle with a different twist. Satan's tricks and deceptions are old and well used. He as the master of recycling. Starting at Eve, with the most incredible question ever asked, "did God really say?"

This first temptation caused Eve to question her faith in God's word. The serpent came and raised doubts. He suggested that God didn't really mean what He said. He also questioned the authority that God would follow through with the consequences. She found herself justifying and trying to explain in her own human way the truth of what God had plainly said. God establishes himself through his word. His word is Him. Unbelief in God's word is sin. I know the word sin is a very unpopular word anymore, and everybody wants to justify it away. But God's word is truth, and sin is sin. It will bring separation from God. Satan's ultimate victory with that first sin was that it brought separation between God and creation. We would like to justify the word 'sin' away. "I don't think it is necessarily sinning." That is another temptation that Satan put to Eve. Satan suggested that she could decide herself what is good and what is evil. That is lies. We have an enemy of our souls. He comes to LIE! His specialty is deception. I'm not gonna take this topic any farther than this today. We do not need to look far to realize Satan is having a heyday. Our society is grappling, trying to justify what is right and what is wrong. Wondering even if there is such a thing as sin

and consequences. We, as God's people must be into the Bible. It is the word of truth that will lead and guide us. There have always been plagues and war, hatred, and injustices. Without God, man's heart is evil. God's desire is for truth and love to prevail. As we pull ourselves closer and closer to the Word of Life, which is God himself, our faith in him will arise. Doubts come from the enemy. We must become masters to defend our minds when the enemy comes, and temptingly says, "did God really say?"

"A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil." Ephesians 6:10-11 NLT
