Other People are NOT the Enemy

Good morning, “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10 The thought that is in my mind this morning is Maturity, Godly maturity. God is calling his son’s and daughter’s to seriously move into a higher level with Him. God has called us out of darkness into a beautiful relationship with Him. He has given us His Holy Spirit and all authority against the powers of darkness. We are not to be overwhelmed or intimidated by anything that is going on in this world. God is in control. Through His maturity, we can recognize the tactics of the enemy and resist and defeat him.

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.“ Ephesians 6:12

In order to be strong and actively fight in a battle, we must know as much about the enemy as possible. The enemy is not other people. They are God’s creation, the same as us. God’s heart is broken because of their deception. The enemy is Satan, and he comes to steal and destroy what God loves. He uses what is in his possession to bring about his plans, but our battles aren’t against people. The enemy likes to keep us focused on people we don’t agree with. That is not where the real spiritual warfare is. We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies. It’s literally the very forces of hell that are working so active and strong. We must be stronger. We are stronger through the mighty power of God. In the Bible, we are given directions on who the enemies are and how to fight them. Read all of Ephesians 6. Put on the full armor of God. So... the bottom line is we are engaged in a spiritual battle. Always and forever until God comes, or He calls us home. We can’t wimp out. We are deceived into thinking, “if I don’t acknowledge it, it’s not a reality.” It is a reality. The work of the enemy is very real and orchestrated. He is in it for the count. Stand your ground! “Put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm.” Ephesians 6:13 Never, ever, underestimate the power God has given us. He would never set us up to fail. He has enabled us to be victorious overcomes to the tearing down of strongholds in high places. “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18 NLT

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” 2 Corinthians 10:4
